Salmons. The magnificent creatures that rock the oceans and the lakes. They are going extinct, thanks to humans and the greatly changing climate on this planet.
Until I watched Planet Earth, I had no idea that salmons are ferocious carnivores that roam on the ocean. Recently when I went to visit Muir Woods, located near San Francisco, the tour guide told us that the salmons that regularly visited Muir Woods, are now almost extinct, ever since George W. Bush took presidency and "helped" farmers hunt the salmons simply by switching the streams over to them, rather than streams that ultimately reach Muir Woods. Ever since then, even after switching the stream back to original place, salmons have stopped coming. And I am afraid they never will...
There's a reason prices of fishes are going up and more mothers cannot have babies because of their high mercury levels. Fishes are going extinct, by the pollution levels, ever-growing demands of fish for human food, and the changing climate. One single cause for all of this is: humankind.
