Lisa the Vegetarian - The Simpsons

submitted by equanimity
The Simpsons episode 705, "Lisa the Vegetarian", explains the very reason the little star girl Lisa became a vegetarian: a cute little lamb at the petting zoo, and she just could not bite another lamb chop. (I always wondered why Lisa was feeling a little out of the family...)

Apparently, this episode is one of the most favored shows aired on The Simpsons. MSNBC rated it the second most favored show of all Simpsons episodes. Even Wikipedia has a page dedicated to this episode, citing popular culture icons such as Beatles and Paul McCartney. Crazy!

I believe there are vegetarians in the Simpsons crew, which is pretty cool. One of the new episodes, "Apocalypse Cow", also shows Bart (gasp!) showing his love of a cow.

Here is a little part of Lisa's episode (ending). You may watch the full episode here.

P.S. South Korean viewers can watch the subbed version here.

Can we have cows as pets I wonder? That would be cool.

Actually, you can adopt them, apparently.

Also a good alternative is to visit Farm Sanctuaries, which rescue & adopt livestock animals, such as cows.

Hehe, just for fun, here are what's listed as adoption fees from Farm Sanctuaries:

Chicken - $10.00

Cow/Steer - $100.00

Duck - $20.00

Goat - $50.00

Goose - $20.00

Rabbit - $10.00

Sheep - $50.00

Pig- $75.00

Turkey - $20.00
